Tool care is easier when every item follows the same route: cool, clean, dry, inspect, and store.
Let every tool cool as directed
Do not move a hot brush, scraper, tray, or glove into storage. Follow the appliance and tool instructions and keep hot items away from combustible surfaces.
Clean by material and task
Separate food-contact tools from grate-care tools. Use the final supplier cleaning instructions and avoid assuming dishwasher compatibility.
Dry before storage
Moisture trapped around joints, sleeves, folds, and handles can make inspection harder. Dry each component fully before closing a drawer or sleeve.
Inspect the working parts
Check tongs at the joint, turners at the neck, brushes at the cleaning head, scrapers at the edge, and gloves at seams and grip areas. Replace damaged tools.
Store by the next task
Keep prep and serving tools together, checking tools protected, and cleanup tools in a separate dry zone.
